Listen to “The Silver Shade: Help from the Shadows”

She seeks out justice where others cannot go; she is the Silver Shade. The Post Meridian Radio Players presents an homage to the pulp adventure series of the golden age of radio. High school teacher Penelope Umberson has a super power she keeps hidden from the world, but when a student comes to her for help when a parent is framed for murder, she must learn to use her ability to set things right.

At the Boskone science-fiction conference in pre-lockdown February of this year, PMRP performed an original superhero drama in the style of the Golden Age of Radio, “The Silver Shade: Help from the Shadows”, and you can now listen to it online (or download it) for free here!

Plan 8 and Plan 9 POSTPONED due to the pandemic

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone what was to be our spring show, Plan 9 from Outer Space, with Plan 8 from the Outer Ether. While the show will not be performed in April as scheduled, it will be performed at a later date! (We are considering some options, including our usual Halloween slot later this year.)

Stay safe, and we hope you look forward to watching Plan 8 and Plan 9 when we perform them.

Congratulations to our casts!

Congratulations to the cast of PMRP’s spring show, Plan 9 from Outer Space, with Plan 8 from the Outer Ether, going up in April, and to the cast of our latest studio recording project, “The Renegotiation”, which will be released as an audio download! Find out more (and learn who’s in the cast and crew) about our adaptation of the infamous Ed Wood movie, and our original companion prequel, on that show’s page, and find out more about our studio project adapting a classic folk tale and learn who the cast are on that project’s page.

More audition information

Audition documents (sides, character descriptions, and paper forms) have just been posted for “The Renegotiation”, PMRP’s studio project, which is auditioning on February 11. And we're still eager for more signups for auditions for our spring show, “Plan 9 from Outer Space, with Plan 8 from the Outer Ether”, for which audition slots are available on both February 10 and February 11. You can learn about both shows on our Auditions page, or you can go straight to the individual audition page for the Renegotiation or for Plan 9 and Plan 8!

Come audition for us — two upcoming opportunities!

We have two different audition opportunities open now on our Auditions page!

Our spring show will be “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” and “Plan 8 from the Outer Ether” — an adaptation of the infamous Ed Wood film...along with an original prequel fiasco! For this show we’re seeking voice actors, live Foley sound-effects artists, and several behind-the-scenes positions.

We’re also seeking voice actors and some additional positions for PMRP Presents’ next studio recording project, “The Renegotiation”, in which a talented blacksmith faces the consequences of a deal with the Devil.

Auditions slots for the spring show will be Monday, February 10th and Tuesday, February 11th (with possible callbacks on Thursday, February 13th). Audition slots for the studio recording will be on Tuesday, February 11th (overlapping with the auditions for the spring show). Rehearsals and performances/recordings will be scheduled so as not to conflict, so you can audition for both, but you’d need to sign up for a separate audition slot for each — and make sure your auditions for each aren’t at the same time!
